Facebook vient de racheter Whatsapp

C'est le fondateur de Facebook lui-même qui l'annonce sur son compte public, il vient d'acquérir la société Whatsapp.

Whatsapp, c'est une application mobile utilisée par plus de 450 millions de personnes à travers le monde. Elle est, basiquement, un outil permettant de communiquer en vidéo, texte ou voix sans aucun abonnement téléphonique requis.

Toujours sur son profil, Mark Zuckerberg annonce que Facebook et Whatsapp auront des destins séparés, il n'y a donc pas d'intégration prévue dans l'immédiat. Cependant, les équipes de Whatsapp rejoindront celles de Facebook.

Le fondateur de Whatsapp intégrera le comité de direction de Facebook.

Avec cette acquisition, Facebook étend encore plus sa suprématie et remet la pression sur Google.

We also expect that WhatsApp will add to our efforts forInternet.org, our partnership to make basic internet services affordable for everyone.

WhatsApp will complement our existing chat and messaging services to provide new tools for our community. Facebook Messenger is widely used for chatting with your Facebook friends, and WhatsApp for communicating with all of your contacts and small groups of people. Since WhatsApp and Messenger serve such different and important uses, we will continue investing in both and making them each great products for everyone.
